Ozone is a naturally occurring and chemically reactive gas. It contains three atoms of oxygen (O3) instead of the usual two found in normal oxygen (O2). This third atom makes the gas unstable, allowing it to decay readily. When it decays and comes into contact with an odour, the free oxygen atom reacts with it, oxidising it into a harmless odourfree substance. |
| Ozone is the most powerful naturally occurring steriliser in the world, destroying bacteria, viruses, allergens, mould and odours and is around 50 times the power of Chlorine with none of the after affects. As Ozone is a gas, it leaves no residue whatsoever, and can find its way into all of the cracks and creases that are notoriously difficult to clean As the Ozone gas is produced, it starts to decay, destroying smells and sterilising whatever it comes into contact with. Clearly, the degree of smoke residue in a room will affect how long it takes for the ozone gas to fully clean a room. One which has many years of smoke damage will take longer to clean than one where there has been infrequent smoking. It also works at eradicating smells as those produced by other "hotel" favourites, such as vomit and alcohol spillages. |
It will permeate into fabrics and carpets, and remove the ingrained smells deep in the fabric, but if you are using this in a room which has smokers in for many years you may well find you need to have more than 1 application. |
